Nostalgia Hits: Missing a Life You Don’t Live Anymore
How To Let Go Without Feeling Lost

Hi love,
Have you ever been totally fine one minute… and then out of nowhere, your brain pulls up a random memory from years ago?
Maybe it’s something embarrassing, something you miss, or something that still hurts a little.
Suddenly, you’re there again. Feeling it all.
It’s weird, right?
We don’t choose it. It just happens.
That’s what I like to call time hopping — when your mind quietly takes you back to a moment that shaped you.
⸻
Why It Happens 💭
We don’t usually get stuck on random memories for no reason.
Our brains are trying to process, protect, or reconnect.
Sometimes we revisit an old version of ourselves because we’re missing something now. Or maybe it’s just a reminder that we’ve changed — even if we didn’t notice.
You might be:
• Remembering a friendship that faded
• Thinking about someone you’re no longer close to
• Missing a time when life felt easier, lighter, more secure
• Wondering who you’d be if things went differently
It’s okay to miss what used to be.
It’s also okay to feel a little sad when the past shows up.
What’s not okay is feeling like you have to live there.
⸻
You’re Not Stuck. You’re Growing. 🌱
You are not the same person you were back then — and that’s not a bad thing.
That version of you got you here. She tried. She did her best.
Now it’s your turn to give this version of you some kindness, too.
The past might knock on your door sometimes, but you don’t have to let it move in.
You can visit it… reflect on it… learn from it…
Then gently close the door and come back to now.
⸻
If You Needed to Hear This Today:
🌼 You’re allowed to move forward slowly.
🌼 You don’t need to have it all figured out.
🌼 And you can still love parts of your past without living in it.
You’re not broken. You’re just human.
And honestly, being human is messy and beautiful all at once.
Sending a soft hug and a quiet reminder:
“I’m not stuck. I’m still becoming.”
