Cancelled Plans: When You Secretly Needed a Break
When The Universe Clears Your Calendar For You

Hi love,
You ever feel that tiny wave of relief when plans get cancelled?
It’s okay. You can admit it. We’ve all been there.
The group chat goes quiet, a friend texts, “Hey, can we reschedule?” — and suddenly your Friday night turns into soft clothes, a clean face, and an empty to-do list.
You didn’t even realize how much you needed a break… until the break showed up.
Here’s what I’ve been learning lately: rest doesn’t always need permission. Sometimes, cancelled plans are just the universe giving you a gentle pause. A reset. A breath.
And you don’t need to fill that empty space with something “productive.”
You can simply exist. That’s enough.
✨ If today turns into an unexpected night in, here are a few cozy ideas:
• Light a candle and do absolutely nothing for 10 minutes.
• Watch something you’ve already seen — no pressure to pay attention.
• Make your favorite drink and actually sit down to enjoy it.
• Journaling prompt: “What’s something I haven’t given myself permission to feel?”
Sometimes we’re so busy trying to show up for everyone else that we forget to show up for ourselves.
So if plans fall through, or your energy runs out before the day does — take the hint. Your body and mind are asking for rest. That’s not laziness, it’s wisdom.
⸻
This is just your midweek reminder that you’re allowed to rest, and it’s okay to feel a little relieved when plans get moved. Trust your pace. You know what you need more than anyone else.
With a whole lot of love,
